Power

In class a while ago, Rita Ma'am talked of hegemony.....

strangely, the concept turns me on more than i can even understand. for a stage at which i might not remember the meaning and am too lazy to go check it out, hegemony is a state in which someone manages to get into the psyche of the person so completely, rule over him/her so totally, that the person under him/her actually begins to feel grateful that the person in charge is screweing with them.

she was talking in the indian context....with our love of the british, we just prove that the brits managed to screw us over so totally, that we actually love the fact that they were here....we're grateful that they came over, filched everything we had, and yet we hanker after them....

the idea is awesome....imagine ruling over someone so totally....imagine the person jumping at your every whim...imagine a slave so slavishly devoted to you that they would kiss your shitty ass and actually be happy that yer yer offering it to be kissed......imagine being able to control a living, breathing person, playing with them, their emotions......ouch....that is so SICKENING....and yet soooo turning on.....

ok...i'm a sadistic bitch....so sue me.....
